Alert: Cubs call up Starlin Castro

The future?

According to multiple reports today, the Cubs have called up top prospect Starlin Castro. After tearing up AA this year, the Cubs are going to give him a shot to become the everyday short stop giving him a chance to jump start a team that was just swept by the Pirates. Keep an eye on this guy, he could thrive right away in Chicago and could be a nice pick up.

Castro or Aviles in a 16 team mixed league?

Projections if he cracks the starting lineup?

    Thanks

They say that Castro is going to start right away and they are going to move Theriot to second base. I would take Aviles right now because he is in less of a pressure situation in KC. But I would also give Castro the weekend to see if he shows some signs of adapting to the bigs. He has played very well at each level even though he has been younger than most people at each stop.

Also, Castro probably wont hit for much power right now.

I’d go with alives too for now, unless Castro demonstrates a seriously exponential learning curve

everything I’ve read has said that same thing- don’t expect too much pop too quickly

looks like we were wrong! (kinda)

    HR – S Castro (1, 2nd inning off H Bailey 2 on, 0 Out).

    welcome to the show, kid

My advice now, (especially if you are in a 16 team league) is to pick him up.
